It's hard to pull off an energetic downward tempo shift, but that's exactly what Franz Ferdinand did, and I love it.

Furthermore, the title echoes a message not as frequently heard in the breakup song canon: kill it off now to save yourself the pain later.

It may not be their signature tune (if you can even narrow that down to one), but it's an indicative slice of their formative sound.

At least now we know what it's about.

Florence + the Machine believe so, but their protagonist is far from convinced.
