It's a fitting song to soundtrack my return home... but that's a pretty new way for me to approach it.

This site is dedicated to discussion of popular music, but explaining today's choice necessitates a flashback to the Romantic era.

I didn't realize that until I looked a little closer for this post, which also led me to appreciating the song even more.

Yes, it's a cover, and yes, they made a couple small changes that really make their version superior to its predecessors.

...but the song has more than just that to offer. It ends up lending itself to a discussion on risk taking in pop writing and production.

It's a song I consider a sports anthem, and just a track that gets you in the mood for a thrashing.

The simplest tracks sometimes hit you the hardest.
